The Korean government released the latest numbers for Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) mobile TV broadcasting system in Korea:

More than 10 million people have subscribed to digital multimedia broadcasting.

Meanwhile, SK Telecom approved another injection of capital into TU Media the Satellite Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (S-DMB) provider giving them a 49% ownership stake in the company.

The Electronic and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) which developed Terrestrial DMB (T-DMB) is continuing to commercialize the technology with exports to Indonesia and other countries. ETRI is also working on the next generation of the T-DMB service which will double the number of channels available along with developing the 3D T-DMB Broadcasting System which will provide 3D audio visual through T-DMB.

The European Union is also continuing to push Nokia's DVB-H as the mobile TV standard in Europe:

Italy is the lone European country with a headstart in adopting mobile TV, while other large European nations including Germany and the U.K. have balked in the past at the idea of setting a single standard.
