Samsung TVs and phones join with YouTube and Second Life
2008/04/09 15:28Samsung Electronics will connect content from YouTube and Second Life for recently announced flat screen TVs and mobile phones.
First, Samsung will allow customers to view YouTube content on their flat screen TVs. While details of the partnership haven't been announced yet, Samsung will also partner with Naver to view other information via the Internet to be displayed on their TVs:
Samsung is also set to introduce another LCD TV set in a partnership with Naver, South Korea’s No. 1 portal service provider. The ``Pavv Bordeaux 670’’ enables consumers to look at Internet-based content such as weather, news and stock movement on the screen in real time.
Samsung also announced a new application allowing mobile phone users to access the Second Life virtual world:
The Finland-based Nokia chaser said distinctive features of the Second Life users include an integrated blogging platform, allowing users to write their blogs in the real world and the virtual world without a time gap, while the ``Mixed Contract’’ function makes it possible to contact with avatar buddies either on the Internet or a phone via voice or SMS.
