Electronic Arts (EA) continued their online game expansion by acquiring Korean game developer J2MSoft:

"This is a significant step in EA’s strategic plan for developing and publishing online games in Asia," says Jon Niermann, president of EA Asia. "J2M is an experienced team of developers and we can’t wait to have them start creating online games based on new properties and powerful EA franchises.”

"Korean developers have created a unique style of online games that is growing in popularity all over Asia," said J2M founder and CEO KyungMin Bang. "We are excited that EA is aligning with our vision for online games."

Founded in 2004, J2M is best known for their racing game Raycity Online which was published by Korean publisher Neowiz Games. EA purchased a 19% stake in Neowiz in March 2007.

In November, US television network Lifetime purchased Roiworld which developed an online virtual fashion game:

New York-based Lifetime will open a game development in Seoul to create more online games.

By early next year, Lifetime plans to have a U.S. version of the site with more than 1,000 female-targeted casual games beginning early next year. The games will focus on the “dress up” genre where members dress up avatars, or characters, in virtual clothing and share the creations with your friends in social networks or virtual worlds.
