Along with recently increasing their stake in the money-losing mobile virtual network operator Helio, SK Telecom's CEO has said they are considering some kind of partnership with Sprint:

SK Telecom doesn't have any plans to buy Sprint, Kim said, reiterating comments from July, when the company said it rejected a proposal by overseas investors to participate in a bid to acquire the U.S. mobile-phone company.

Kim said SK Telecom may also enter the Indian and Indonesian markets, where wireless carriers are adding more subscribers than in Korea. Since becoming chief executive in 2004, Kim has formed the U.S. venture and bought a stake in China Unicom Ltd.
