Sprint/Clearwire WiMax partnership put on hold
2007/11/09 17:42Wired News' Epicenter has a post on the failed WiMax partnership deal between Sprint and Clearwire:
On Friday, the Wall Street Journal reports that the two companies will part ways due to "complexities" in the partnership and the departure last month of Sprint's CEO Gary Forsee -- a longtime champion of WiMax for the company.
The WSJ article also mentions possible financial support for Clearwire from some WiMax backers (Intel, Motorola and Samsung).
Chang also had his own technology "on the street" report with someone using WiBro:
I've also recently noticed more street displays of WiBro. One stand was just on the sidewalk at the front entrance of Yonsei University and the other was in front of a mobile phone store in Hongdae. This morning, I got an email from our company's PR chief on her morning schedule. She said in the email, "This email is being writting in taxi - I just love Wibro."
