Korea to host e-Stars Seoul 2008 tournament
2008/03/18 23:58Korea will be hosting an international e-sports tournament in July called e-Stars Seoul 2008 along with making several investments:
The city of Seoul plans to launch a second fund to promote the e-sports industry, following the previous 30 billion won [$30.9 million] fund initiated for cultural events. The world's first complex dedicated to e-sports will be built by the end of 2011 at Sangam-dong, Seoul, Oh Se-hoon, Seoul's mayor, said in a press conference yesterday at Seoul City Hall.
This past February, Gretech hosted their Star Invitational tournament for StarCraft that was broadcast through their Gom Media Player. The tournament was noted for targeting international viewers by translating their broadcast and website into English.
