E-Mart has selected two branches to test out new technology in their "Future Stores":

Some discount supermarket chains have adopted digital devices to make pushing a cart through supermarket aisles easier yet more informative, such as self-checkout machines and putting radio frequency identification (RFID) or smart tags on products so that consumers can find out about information about products they are considering buying.

E-Mart and Hanaro Mart have also started to handle distribution logistics using RFID technology in their warehouses.
