LG and Samsung to co-develop mobile TV standard
2008/05/16 06:04LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics have decided to co-develop a new mobile TV standard for the North American market:
Samsung’s A-VSB technology, LG’s MPH and the technology proposed jointly by Thomson and Micronas have been competing to be adopted as North America Mobile TV technology standard. As Samsung and LG agreed on a mobile TV standard, the status of local companies will be higher. The standard proposed by the two is a mix of MPH and A-VSB.
The Open Mobile Video Coalition in the United States just reported back on field trials that backed the LG and Samsung technology.
