Korea Telecom (KT) has decided to embrace the latest wave of netbooks by offering up to 200,000 won discounts when buyers also sign up for a 18 month WiBro subscription contract (the HP 2133 requires a 24 month contract). KT has previously offered discounts on Toshiba notebook computers to entice new WiBro subscribers.

The initial group of eligible netbooks for the promotion will include the Asus EeePc 701, HP 2133, and Kohjinsha E8.

None of these netbooks have built-in WiBro support so they will continue to require a USB modem to connect to the network.

This promotion should be a win-win for both KT and the netbook manufacturers in expanding the respective WiBro and netbook user base.
