Korea Times reports on the latest mobile coupon service from SK Networks called OKcoufun (Korean) for SK Telecom and KTF mobile phone users:

The latest of these services is SK Networks' ``OK CouFun,'' a customized coupon database which automatically updates daily to provide subscribers with a fresh stock of vouchers that can be redeemed at any time.

``We offer savings anywhere from getting hamburgers, attending musicals, renting cars and joining fitness centers,'' said SK Networks spokesman Chang Sae-chan, adding that currently some 100 products are available for bargain deals. ``The best part of the service is its hassle-free use.''

SK Networks expects 3 million users to signup for the service by the middle of 2008. The service was initially announced in  2007 as the "Ufit Coupon" service:

The most distinctive feature is that while the existing SMS advertisement is unilaterally sent to many and unspecified persons, the ‘Ufit Coupon’ service makes it available for users to see only the information they need when they search in the categories of ‘shopping, ticket, food, beauty and leisure’ through the exclusive application loaded into the mobile phone.

This follows their previous Gifticons service which allows mobile users to send virtual gifts to friends that can be redeemed using their mobile phone.
