SK Telecom will roll out their WiBro Wave 2 network in Seoul by the second half of 2008. SK also said they plan to beat the current pricing of HSDPA data plans with the new WiBro service.

Korea Telecom announced an expansion of their WiBro Wave 2 network to the Gyeonggi province in Korea which surrounds Seoul:

The deal with Gyeonggi Province will open new opportunities for WiBro especially in the public sector, KT Said. According to the firm, Gyeonggi is to use WiBro for conventions and tourism events to be held in the province. More importantly, officials are considering utilizing the system in fighting crime and fire by issuing WiBro devices to policemen and firemen and monitoring them from a control tower.

KT also will extend their promotional pricing for their WiBro service:

Unlike the existing promotional price, the new price system called "fixed rate for boundless use" charges 10 won (1 cent) for every 1 MB exceeding 30GB a month. To use up 30GB, users have to download a 700MB movie file everyday, according to KT.
