Samsung Fire and Marine Insurance has decided to finally join the growing market of online sale of car insurance in Korea:

The move marks a significant change in the company’s policy. Until recently, Samsung had maintained a premium brand strategy, emphasizing face-to-face consulting and quality follow-up service. The company said it noticed the potential growth of online auto insurance subscriptions with their low premiums and an increasing population of online users. According to the General Insurance Association of Korea, 18.2 percent of all auto insurance policy sales were online as of June.

They plan to distinguish their My Anycar service by removing a telephone consultation step that is currently required by other auto insurance websites.
